If you have been up since the crack of dawn trying to upgrade your IOS device, it seems that you and I are not alone. After downloading the IOS 5 Update release today for my iPad 32GB, the upgrade has failed after several attempts. In addition, my son has a fever, and my car has is running on its Space Saver Wheel, as well as now having a flat battery #FirstWorldProblems

This morning, the blogger world gone into a spin, many people are posting on support forums including Apples own, that they are receiving the “IOS 5 Error 3200″.  There is a general theme floating around, that so many people are trying to upgrade, in turn causing network congestion on the Apple Servers.

Twitter user, Jay Freeman (@saurik) stated that “To anyone getting “An internal error occurred.” (3200) while installing iOS 5.0, Apple’s servers are swamped, and failing half the requests.”

I look forward to the many hundred’s of changes that the IOS 5 update will bring, and until then, if you are still having the issue, it has been suggested to wait for a while, and try again. Otherwise in the words of George Harrison “As I’m sitting here, doing nothing but ageing,Still, my guitar gently weeps.” #Error3200

Making Life Easier with Technology

Below is a link to a great article that shows how an iPad, iPod or an iPhone which can be used to transform a life or a family with disabilities. Apple have directly, or indirectly been a leader in this field with the advancements in mobile technology via applications developed for people with disabilities.

The iPod and iPad have been called “a near-miracle device” for children and adults with autism. In that formulation, “near” is as important as “miracle.” It’s not simply miraculous. Nothing that solves a real problem, rather than an invented or infomercial problem, is.

With the introduction of SIRI, Apple demonstrate how a blind person can have their text messages read back to them via the voice activated commands. Check out the video below.

“These technologies can make life easier, can let us touch people we might not otherwise. You may have a child with a birth defect and be able to get in touch with other parents and support groups, get medical information, the latest experimental drugs. These things can profoundly influence life. I’m not downplaying that. But it’s a disservice to constantly put things in this radical new light — that it’s going to change everything. Things don’t have to change the world to be important.” Steve Jobs
